Ascorti Sabbia di Oro Estate Pipe Bulldog Refurbished Rusticated with Original Acrylic Stem. Sabbia di Oro is a special line of pipes from Ascorti. This handmade Italian pipe is obviously used and well cared for. Rim is darkened, but no damage from knocking on ash tray. Stem has slight darkening at the bit from use. Cesare Barontini 360° Straight Grain Dublin Smooth C05 Vintage Estate Pipe
We just unpacked the last eighty pipes from my extensive collection as I scale back for retirement. Here’s a rare straight grain one.. The straight grain is simply unbelievable. I bought this pipe about 1985 and it has been well maintained. If it had a higher production name, it would be worth more than double what I’m asking. Barontini was founded in 1890 opened a factory for the production of briar blocks and later finished pipes. Grandson Cesare Barontini took direction of the factory in 1955, which still holds together with his daughters Barbara and Silvia today. This is a CESARE BARONTINI Hand Made smooth straight grain natural finish extra large tapered Dublin bowl pipe. Please see the pictures for details, use the pictures to determine the overall condition. SUPERB SMOOTH NATURAL FINISH. EXTRA LARGE TAPERED BOWL. STAMPED ON THE UPPER SIDE OF THE SHANK IS: Cesare Barontini (script / signature) STAMPED ON THE LOWER SIDE OF THE STUMMEL IS: C05 (block capital letters) (Grading & Size). INSIDE DIAMETER: 15/16 inches. DEPTH OF BORE: 2 inches. WEIGHT: 1.82 ounces. THIS DUBLIN PIPE IS PRE-SMOKED BUT IN EXCELLENT CONDITION – PERFECT PIPE just has totally been sterilized and cleaned and waxed and polished. Be sure to check out my other fine and rare pipes, and lighters etc. From a fifty year collection of an avid pipe collector – now scaling back for retirement from a collection of around 500 pieces to a seven day rotation. Lighters, Smoker’s Ephemera and Incredible pipes of finest makers from England, Ireland, Italy, Scandinavia, and the USA. KB&B Vintage Pipe Unsmoked KBB Original Kaywoodie
This pre dates Kaywoodie as we know the company. Dated from the late 1920s to mid 1930s is what I got from a top end collector. This thing is immaculate. Pre dates the use of stingers. It has the nickel band and inlaid club symbol. Most will want to collect it. But it can obviously be taken for its first smoke. And I’d be tempted to use a classic burly just to be a real purist about it. It’s sort of a purist type pipe.
