Sasieni Windsor 55s Sandblasted Billiard Estate Briar Pipe, English Estates. Along with names like Barling, Charatan, and Dunhill Sasieni holds a special place in the history of English smoking pipes – one near to its very beginnings. So the story goes, Sasieni himself worked for Dunhill during its early days. But eventually he left Dunhill, having his own ideas about how pipes should be made, and founded Sasieni. This was 1919, and Sasieni has been the closest thing to a household name in English pipes ever since. Sasieni always had particularly exacting standards for its pipes, even within the highly competitive milieu of 20th century English pipes. So, when a bowl was found to have even the tiniest, superficial imperfection, it would be used for one of Sasieni’s many sub-brands. Such will have been the case for this Old England saddle billiard, though I couldn’t tell you exactly how it missed out on being a Four Dot or Two Dot of some variety. The condition is very good. There’s patches of darkening on the rim, and the nomenclature is a little faded (though still readable), but nothing major. Length: 6? / 152.4mm. Bowl Width: 0.83 / 21.08mm. Bowl Depth: 1.65? / 41.91mm. Weight: 1.6oz / 46g. Replace this text with your service information.

Sasieni Four Dot Natural Lombard estate smoking pipe
Sasieni Four Dot Natural large Pot Model/shape#: Lombard. The Natural Four Dot line from Sasieni commanded a higher price than the Plum or Rustic finishes offered since they were of superior grain. This beauty will likely make it into my collection due to internal condition and my higher than market asking price. This pipe has had a LOT of use and was not smoked responsibly. My heart sank when I was reaming him out to see the amount of upper chamber char that needed to be removed. With a little topping and inner bowl expansion I was able to get a good usable even chamber that will smoke very nicely once a new cake is built up for protection. I have already run four bowls to get a head start. With all that, this pipe is an amazing piece that I strongly desire to stash in my collection! Top notch wood and spectacular grain is evident as it should be for a true Four Dot, not a newer 4-Dot. The stamping is a bit thin for the branding and “four dot” designation but pretty good for “Lombard” on the other side as seen in the pics. The blue dot diamond on the stem looks great and the flat transition from shank to stem lines up very well -lots of care during sanding. IF you can look past the abuse to really appreciate a fine pipe like this he will be a fantastic addition to your smoking lineup. Last pic is from previous condition. Measurements: 5 7/8″ long, 1 9/16″ tall, 1 9/16″ wide, 1 3/16″ bowl opening at top tapering to 7/8″ after 3/16″ down, and 1 1/4″ bowl depth for 7/8″ portion of chamber. Weight: 1.27oz or 36.1g. I know you have a lot of options here at the Bay. I thank you for your consideration! Recondition included wet sanded, and polished stem. Draft hole drilled out at 5/32. Lightly reamed and sanded inside chamber to round out. Rim topped to even out slight char damage. Buffed out and hand rubbed and sealed with Paragon wax for preservation and easier cleaning. This pipe will be thoroughly clean and safe for your enjoyment. Please don’t be offended if I refuse an offer. I spend countless hours on each of these pipes making sure that my customers have an heirloom piece they can enjoy for years to come. There will likely be imperfections from years of use but I try to bring them as close to new as possible with my current skill set. I also like to exercise a little creative liberty to give some pieces a unique personality!
