1967 DUNHILL SHELL BRIAR ESTATE PIPE, Group 3, Great Shape 53! Offering this beautiful 1967 dated Dunhill SHELL BRIAR, a 53 shape, group 3 size bowl, F/T fantail stem. This is a SHELL finish, and typically you can find some nice-looking grain on this Dunhill bowl! The pipe is a mid-size bent billiard, a group 3, and it’s comfortable in the hand. It’s also nice and light, so easy on the teeth at 1.0 ounce. The date stamping indicated it was made in 1967, with the 7 same height as the D in England, see pics. The bowl is in excellent condition, only noted wear is slight to outer rim. Look at pictures amd you will see Beautifull layout of briar cross ring grain!! The interior of the bowl is well-seasoned, and the draw hole is bottom center. The stem is original, in a fish-tail cut. It has just a hint of smoothed tooth wear, in great shape. It weighs 1.0 ounces, draws easy and is ready to go. A nice early example from Dunhill! 53 F/T, DUNHILL SHELL BRIAR. MADE IN ENGLAND7, (3) S. Overall Length – 4 7/8. Bowl Height – 1 3/4. 1957/8 Dunhill Shell Briar 635 F/T Group 3 estate smoking pipe

A timeless 1957 Dunhill Shell Briar F/T Model/shape#: 635. I love the clean lines from the shank, to saddle, to the wide button, almost aeronautical in nature. The texture is classic old Dunhill blast! Gnarly and full of character with deep blood red and brown all around the bowl and shank. No stain touchup done. Stamping presents extremely well with minimal thinning. There is a double date stamp. The “8” is to the bottom right of the group 3 circle stamp as seen in pic 9. Stem snugs in just right and is ready for an inner-tube! My tube was a touch on the loose side but it stayed in place and lined up just right in the bowl. The rim is almost perfect with no dingage or abuse. The inner rim is still crisp and the chamber remains full of life! This is a great sized pipe, less than an ounce, so he can be an all-day companion. The last pic is from before work done. Measurements: 5 1/4″ long, 1 3/4″ tall bowl, 1 5/16″ wide, 3/4″ bowl opening, and 1 1/2 bowl depth. 87oz or 24.8g. I know you have a lot of options here at the Bay. I thank you for your consideration! Compare my vintage Dunhill prices with Smokingpipes! Basic recondition included de-oxidized, wet sanded, and polished stem. Draft hole cleaned out at 5/32. Lightly buffed/brushed out and hand rubbed and sealed with Paragon and Halcyon wax for preservation and easier cleaning. This pipe will be thoroughly clean and safe for your enjoyment. Please don’t be offended if I refuse an offer. I spend countless hours on each of these pipes making sure that my customers have an heirloom piece they can enjoy for years to come. There will likely be imperfections from years of use but I try to bring them as close to new as possible with my current skill set.
