We just unpacked the last eighty pipes from my extensive collection as I scale back for retirement. Here’s another rare old Barling Ring Grain Canadian. This one is a pre-smoked Vintage Barling 5574 Canadian Style Briar Pipe with stunning 360° Ring grain. This original stem has no tooth marks but the Barling cross logo is faded on the original bit. I was careful not to over polish the logo any more than it is. I had Walker Pipe Repair professionally install a Delrin tenon on the original stem to save it rather than replace it. The bowl and long shank stummel are made from natural finish sandblasted 360° ring grain briar. The stem is connected with smooth cut Delrin and and is tenon that fits the stem tight and flush. The original Barling nomenclature is crisp and clear on the bottom of the pipe. Weight: 1.02 ounces. (All on bottom of shank.). Be sure to check out my other fine and rare pipes, and lighters etc. From a fifty year collection of an avid pipe collector – now scaling back for retirement from a collection of around 500 pieces to a seven day rotation.
