For sale very rare, extremely collectible smoked pipe French Estates Davidoff Black Sandblast (109) Tobacco Pipe. Condition is used, very good condition for its age, has some fine signs of wear from normal use. See photos for condition. Davidoff pipes are hand turned from the finest, well aged briar, and feature a hand cut stem. About a Dunhill group 4 in size, this beautifully rendered three quarter bent billiard feautures a modified half saddle that proudly displays the famous Davidoff “D” in script on the stem. 1900’s French SPORTIC Briar Zeppelin / Torpedo Estate Smoking Pipe. For your consideration is a very interesting and rare estate tobacco smoking pipe. It is in the quite unusual Zepellin (also known as Torpedo) shape, with a straight, bulbous body and a straight stem. Carved burled briar wood body. Black Bakelite mouthpiece stem. Metal tip, possibly aluminum. Well marked: “SPORTIC” B-TE S. G. D. G. It is marked with the French patent mark “Breveté S. G. D. G”, used from 1844 to 1964. It signifies “Sans Garantie du Gouvernement” (S. G. D. G) – that the invention is registered by the government but without government guarantees or tests. Antique, first half of the 20th century, circa 1920’s. 5.25″ x 1″. Condition: Very Good overall. We are not experts, looks to be smoked, but well maintained and in great overall shape.
