Hasn’t been smoked since SmokingPipes restored it. 1930’s Kaywoodie Super Grain Large Oom Paul with original large 4 hole stinger still in tact. Quite a robustly proportioned jaw-hanger, this Oom Paul features a stout shank, deep transition, and lots of chamber, not to mention a respectable smooth finish. Measurements & Other Details. Super Grain(in script). 4.5/5 Rim darkening, plus a few dings on the bowl. Length: 5.31 in. Weight: 2.40 oz. Bowl Height: 2.06 in. Chamber Depth: 1.78 in. Chamber Diameter: 0.82 in. Outside Diameter: 1.36 in. Some things to help age this pipe. Drinkless name started use in 1924. Imported Briar Stamp Started Use in 1934. Round Circle around logo began in 1936. 2 Digit Shape Codes Plus a Letter 1939 Onward. It of course has the large ball 4 hole stinger where later pipes had smaller ball 4 hole stingers and eventually 3 hole stingers by the 1960’s. 1900’s French SPORTIC Briar Zeppelin / Torpedo Estate Smoking Pipe. For your consideration is a very interesting and rare estate tobacco smoking pipe. It is in the quite unusual Zepellin (also known as Torpedo) shape, with a straight, bulbous body and a straight stem. Carved burled briar wood body. Black Bakelite mouthpiece stem. Metal tip, possibly aluminum. Well marked: “SPORTIC” B-TE S. G. D. G. It is marked with the French patent mark “Breveté S. G. D. G”, used from 1844 to 1964. It signifies “Sans Garantie du Gouvernement” (S. G. D. G) – that the invention is registered by the government but without government guarantees or tests. Antique, first half of the 20th century, circa 1920’s. 5.25″ x 1″. Condition: Very Good overall. We are not experts, looks to be smoked, but well maintained and in great overall shape. OLD SMOKING MAN IN PUB! This has a great antique German look to it…. What a great display piece! 7 pipe tobacco pipe rack. 22″ x 22.5″. You can really see it’s age by looking at the back of the rack. Condition: No cracks or chips in wood. Still very strong and sturdy. It has a wire and is ready to hang. The tapestry has some signs of age but the picture can still easily be made out. I could not decipher the royal monogram. “A” & “V” maybe? The silver windshield is hallmarked for Vienna 1842, but I could not decipher the makers marks.
