A NEW PIPE FROM DKMETALPIPES. THIS PIPE IS MY TAKEOFF / REDO OF A PIPE MADE IN THE 40’S CALLED THE ZEPHAIR. THE PROBLEMS WITH THE ORIGINAL PIPES WERE A THREADED ENDCAP THAT COULD LEAK AND LOCK IN PLACE, WHERE THE BOWL WOULD THREAD ON THE PIPE THE THREADS WOULD STRIP AND/OR THE BOWL SIT CROOKED, THE MOUTHPIECE WOULD GET JAMMED IN. ALL OF THAT IS NOW FIXED WITH O-RINGS ON BOTH ENDS FOR EASE OF CLEANING AND PERFECT SEAL. I MAKE THESE PIPES IN STRAIGHT AND QUARTERBENT THIS ONE BEING A QUARTERBENT WITH A CHURCHWARDEN!! ANY KIRSTEN PIPE BOWL WILL FIT THIS PIPE AND THIS BOWL WILL FIT ONTO ANY KIRSTEN PIPE. THIS IS A QUARTERBENT. 7/16 – INCH ID, 3 1/4 – INCH LONG SHANK ZEP II. OVERALL LENGTH : 11 INCHES. BEAUTIFUL NEW POLISHED FINISH. THE BIT IS A NEW VULCANITE CHURCHWARDEN NO BITE OR TOOTH MARKS. MADE HERE AT DKMETALPIPESsee photos. THIS CHURCHWARDEN BIT WILL ALSO FIT ANY KIRSTEN PIPE WITH A 7/16 INCH ID. WOW A BEAUTIFUL NEW TRUE LATTICE CARVED MEERSCHAUM BOWL FROM “ASTAS MEERSCHAUM PIPES” IN TURKEY. All pipes are born free! Come rain or shine, we do our best to restore pipes to their former glory, making them as fresh and shining as they were in the beginning of their lifespan. In the restoration process, we put forth our best efforts to clean the pipe using taste- and odor-free alcohol and professional cleaning agents. We ream the chamber and cover it with an active charcoal-based bowl coat, if necessary. We also address scratches, chips, and teeth marks by either removing them or patching them. If needed, we refresh staining, and finally, we buff, wax, and polish the pipe once again. Undoubtedly, it may not be an easy task to restore a masterpiece with decades of history, and sometimes the result of restoration may be very good but not ideal. Therefore, we must acknowledge the existence of minor drawbacks such as wear, darkening, slight roughness, and scratches inside the chamber, as well as insignificant shape asymmetry in the bowl, chamber, or stem, factory fills, and small splits between the shank and stem. Any other possible shortcomings, if present, will be depicted in our pictures or described in detail separately. Hence, we kindly request you to carefully examine all the pictures as they are an integral part of our description. We always strive to provide you with the clearest and most realistic view, allowing you to even see the smallest dots, particles, and imperfections. Please note that the actual color may slightly differ from its appearance on your screen, which can be influenced by your screen’s settings. Additionally, we would like to draw your attention to the approximate dimensions we provide, with a margin of error of plus or minus 1-2 mm. To ensure your convenience, we include measurements in both centimeters and inches in our listings, ensuring that our buyers receive a pipe of the desired size and weight. A very fine example from the top-grade Dunhill series. Typically, the absence of the year suffix suggests that the pipe was manufactured in 1960, as indicated by some experts, unless it falls within a patent period. However, the most intriguing detail of this pipe is the expertly replaced shank. The quality of the workmanship and the application of the stamping undeniably indicate that the procedure was conducted directly at the Dunhill factory, either as part of the production cycle or as a service maintenance. Perhaps that’s why the year suffix is missing. Pipe markings “572 F/T”, “DUNHILL \ ROOT BRIAR”, “MADE IN \ ENGLAND”, (2) R. Length 13.7 cm (5.39?). Bowl Height 3.7 cm (1.46?). Outside Diameter 3.7 cm (1.46?). Chamber Diameter 2.0 cm (0.79?). Chamber Depth 3.1 cm (1.22?). Briar, vulcanite stem, inner tube. The pipe appears to be quite lightly smoked, not excluding, of course, some light surface wear and very light inner rim darkening. It has been thoroughly cleaned, polished, sanitized and now is ready for a new life. For our valued customers in the USA, we can provide a return address within the United States for added convenience. Please kindly note that the pipe stands and accessories featured in our pictures are not available for sale. We highly encourage you to explore our other listings, as your desired pipe may await you there.
