Uwe Jopp is Germany’s briar pipe trailblazer. Jopp got started as a civil engineer around Dresden, today he has dedicated all his time to the building of pipes. Jopp perfected the use of a flexible drill bit for boring smoking pipes. This advantage enables creative shapes and smooth draws for even the most bent pipe. All the pipes get a grading 1-5 (diamonds). The decision on grading is based on the quality of the wood, harmony and overall impression. This is one of uwe’s earlier pipes, the long straight shank coupled with the short bit gives a very cool smoke. The smooth shank contrasts well with the sandblasted bowl which has some nice ring grain exposed. A beautiful example of the Dublin shape, the bowl is topped by a rounded plateau and stands tall above the slender shank. The artful connection between the bowl and shank, as well as the bit and tenon, show the creative side of Uwe’s designs. This piece is a masterwork from the German pipemaker and a rare find this side of the pond. The pipe has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, and it’s ready to be enjoyed with your favorite tobacco. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to add this stunning piece to your rotation or collection. Measurements & Other Details. STAMPING: Jopp (inside oval) Condition: 5/5 Excellent.
