About 6″ long, bowl is 2 1/2″ tall, 1 5/8″ wide laterally and 2″ wide along axis of pipe. ID 3/4″, depth 1 1/2″. Marked beneath shank Sorgenfri/ HAND MADE/ DENMARK. No other marks detected. Hand cut military bit is well-seated push fit, no filter, cleaned and polished, showing some oxidation and a few tooth marks. Beautiful grain on this old fan shaped Freehand from a little known Danish master of pipecraft! Please examine photos and ask questions. Here’s an exquisitely crafted freehand pipe from Bjørn Thurmann of Denmark. Egg shaped bowl, gorgeous color, wasp waisted shank with widely flared shank end! About 5 1/2″ long, bowl is 2 1/4″ tall, 1 5/8″ wide tapering to 5/8″ at heel. ID 7/8″, depth 1 5/8″. Marked beneath shank THURMANN/ HAND MADE. No other marks detected. Hand cut military bit is well-seated push fit, no filter, cleaned and polished, showing no bite wear. Stummel is rich ruby colored, flame grain, a rustic area beneath, a few dings and scratches, clean plateau rim, cake in bowl. Plateau shank end is almost as large as the bowl width!
