AN EXCEPTIONAL GROUP 1 DUNHILL! Dated to 1967, this slim and petite “116” Billiard from Dunhill is a rare offering that showcases the timelessness of the marque’s shape chart. A sleek, streamlined design, this piece pairs a pert, upright bowl to an arrow-straight shank into the fishtail stem arrangement. The shank and lengthy stem provide sleekness to design, keeping things lightweight and fluid. The auburn hues of the Bruyere finish dress the stummel and highlight some gorgeous flame grain about the bowl. The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill’s original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe.
