If 6 was 4. This Dunhill predates the four-digit stamping code by about a decade, and yet, as you can see, bears a four-digit series. I suspect there was some factory mis-stamping at play here. It was initially mistaken as a Group 4 (the circled “4”), then someone came along and attempted to correct the matter by finding a “6” stamp they could fit ahead of the “120” shape number. The pipe is definitely in Group 6 territory as far as a scale goes, and in relatively great condition for it’s age. There’s some minor rim darkening, but the chamber is in fantastic shape and ready for another lifetime of smoking. Comes in the box pictured and will make an excellent addition to any Dunhill aficionado’s collection. The pipe has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, and it’s ready to be enjoyed with your favorite tobacco.
