1996 DUNHILL CHESTNUT 2101 ESTATE SMOKING BRIAR PIPE VINTAGE ENGLAND36 MINT! 27 Years Old Pipe. This Group 2 iteration of Dunhill’s “01” straight Apple is a pleasantly plump, balanced take on the traditional form with the bowl’s breadth almost identical to its height. Enough chamber tucked away inside to ensure a respectably lengthy, relaxing smoke. Aesthetically, this example is also one of the most gorgeous pieces I’ve personally come across from the legendary English marque. I already have a soft spot for shape-chart standards and to see one of such convenient, elegant size dressed in the dark, consistent palette of the Chestnut series really grabbed my attention. A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill’s Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. Warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland’s. Super clean and hard to find Dunhill Tan Shell Group 3 oval shanked Billiard Model/shape#: 44! Awe inspiring 360 degrees of ring grain all around the bowl in jagged waves like melting candle wax, wow! Medium and dark brown contrasting shades showing the subtle graining underneath the blasted textures. Rubber stem snugs in with no issues. An inner-tube fits into the stem securely, aligns up and ready to go if so inclined. Some claim that the Tan Shell is the best smoking finish for Dunhills. The last pic is from before work done. Measurements: 5 1/4″ long, 1 11/16″ tall bowl, 1 1/4″ wide, 3/4″ bowl opening, and 1 1/2 bowl depth. 82oz or 23.3g. I know you have a lot of options here at the Bay. I thank you for your consideration! Compare my vintage Dunhill prices with Smokingpipes! Basic recondition included de-oxidized, wet sanded, and polished stem. Draft hole cleaned out at 9/64. Lightly buffed/brushed out and hand rubbed and sealed with Paragon and Halcyon wax for preservation and easier cleaning. This pipe will be thoroughly clean and safe for your enjoyment. The “12” Stack from Dunhill is an old shape: In an earlier form it was the basis of one of the “windshield” pipe designs that Alfred Dunhill himself once marketed as ideal for automobile drivers. This Group 4 is a more traditional rendition of the shape, adding a bit of stoutness as well as overall increase in scale and chamber to the form when compared to Group 2 and 3 versions. One of Dunhill’s more recent finishes, the Amber Root was introduced in 1995. Like the Root Briar, it showcases a smooth stain, accentuating the briar’s natural grain in traditional style. Typically auburn-hued, the Amber Root is often a touch darker in color than that of the Root Briar, pairing handsomely with the jet-black stem for an aesthetic that combines the grain definition of the Root Briar finish with the darker, smokier tones of the Bruyere. This pipe is a great addition to any tobacco pipe collection. It has been lightly smoked and is in excellent shape. Chamber Diameter – 20 mm. Chamber Depth – 30 mm. Length – 139 mm. Bowl Height – 45 mm.

1965 DUNHILL 35 F/T SHELL BRIAR GROUP 3S SMOKIG ESTATE BRIAR PIPE VINTAGE!! The “35” is an older Billiard shape from Dunhill, with this particular one having been fashioned back in 1965. It finds itself in good historical company, sharing the same year as the first man on the moon, Woodstock music festival, the Beatles’ Abbey Road, and John Wayne’s True Grit. Shape-wise, it’s a more bowl-heavy renditions the shank and stem being comparatively trimmer to thrust visual weight toward the front. It’s presented in Group 3 size and wears the English marque’s iconic Shell Briar sandblast. The Shell Briar’s addition to the Dunhill catalog was a pivotal moment in pipe-smoking history. Before 1917, pipes with sandblasted finishes had never been made, and Alfred Dunhill’s innovative mind created arguably the most popular finish for pipes today when he unveiled the Shell Briar.
